Nutrition
The key to optimal performance!
The key to optimal performance!
Nutrition is an interesting topic. You’d think with the abundance of resources we have today, everyone would have perfect nutrition. On the contrary, the exact opposite has happened. People line up for fast foods and/or buy massive amounts of pre-packaged products that are loaded with preservatives and cancer-causing agents. Finding a good-for-you mini-meal isn’t easy because, in the American food jungle, chips are the most popular snack food (followed by chocolate, cheese and cookies), and Americans are in fact, “serial snackers”. Researchers say snacks account for an extra 580 extra calories per day in our diets. Poor snacking is just one of the issues related to the health epidemic facing many busy working professionals today.
As a result, we have seen a tailspin in people’s overall health. It is estimated that 4:5 people will die from heart disease or cancer and that 65% of industrialized nations are either overweight or obese. This is only expected to get worse. Professionals normally grab fast food and whatever convenience snacks lay in front of the checkout counter. Researchers say this leads to atherosclerosis, which is a slow clogging of the arteries. According to the World Health Organization, 1:2 people die prematurely of heart disease. We also know from the American Heart Association that heart disease causes more that 17 million deaths worldwide each year. These are significant issues that can be halted utilizing the right tools. I can say this with certainty, as I have biologically changed these disease patterns in many of my health participants.
If life-threatening heart disease is not enough to sway you from eating poorly, perhaps the devastating ramifications to your digestive system will be. Since 80% of your body’s immune system is in your gut, neglecting to properly maintain your gut health can lead to both mental, and physical health concerns. Poor digestion and malabsorption of vital nutrients can contribute to degenerative diseases, compromised immune status, nutritional deficiencies, and an increase of toxic substances in the body. For example, excessive yeast produces toxic substances that can pass through the blood-brain barrier and alter neurological function causing “brain fog,” behavior problems, and learning difficulties.
So what needs to be, or not to be done? It is important to realize that business does not need to be done around a 12 oz. steak, alcohol, and elaborate deserts. Meetings don’t need to be conducted around bowls of candy and high sugar treats. We need to start going back to our roots and eating the way our ancestors did. You must start eating the way nature intended for you to eat. Our genes are designed to eat whole foods that have not been tampered with by man, or created in a lab.
You will be amazed at how much more energy and clarity you have and how health concerns will slowly dissipate when your body has the raw materials it needs to function. You don’t need to begin with a fancy diet if you’re new to nutrition. Just start following these simple steps:
You will be overwhelmingly surprised on how easy meal planning can become, and how much better you will feel. Just stick to these basic nutrition guidelines, which are based on what our genetic code dictates we need to survive. I understand that eating can get more complex than this, and that’s why we offer health consulting using advanced health systems. But for the average person, this is a wonderful place to start. It would save the United States $147 billion dollars annually and an estimated $1,429 per obese person per year in health costs. We want you to skyrocket your health and enjoy a life beyond what you dreamed possible. Any questions you may have, just send our team an email so that we can help you thrive.
