How Cardiometabolic Testing Can Save Your Life

Cardiometabolic Testing

The human heart is life. Your heart is about the size of your fist and beats 100,000 times in one day. Your heart pumps around one million barrels of blood in its lifetime, which is equivalent to a faucet funning on high for 45 years. With a “thump thump”, your heart starts beating 4 weeks after conception, working harder than any other muscle tissue in your body during your lifetime.

Now that we know our heart takes care of us, how do we take care of it?

1:2 people suffer from a cardiovascular condition. This is a devastating statistic that I can personally relate to, as I have lost multiple family members in their 40’s and 50’s due to heart attacks. We brush our teeth daily, but what can we do for our heart daily?

Cardiometabolic Testing

Many of my patients tribute the cardiometabolic test to saving their lives. In most cases these patients had received “the all clear” from their doctors, as the traditional cardiovascular test showed them their cholesterol was “normal”. According to the NCEP guidelines, 50% of people with normal cholesterol levels have heart attacks.
The problem with traditional cholesterol screenings to evaluate heart health is that it does not take into consideration oxidation of cholesterol or inflammation levels within the cardiovascular system. It is the size of the cholesterol, inflammation in the arterial walls and the oxidation of cholesterol that truly tells us that our cardiovascular system is in true panic mode.

Traditional LDL testing can be misleading and doesn’t give you the full picture of your risk of heart disease. Unlike traditional testing of HDL and LDL, the cardiometabolic lab tests for the specific particles that are responsible for plaque formation. Plaque formation leads to arteriosclerosis, strokes and heart disease. This test also measures a specific C-reactive protein, along with homocystine levels, to make this test the most comprehensive heart disease, stroke and arteriole analysis in the world. Combined with the pre-diabetes risk score, cardiometabolic testing can literally save your life.

Should I take the CardioMetaboic Test?

All people benefit from the cardiometabolic test but especially those who:

  • Have a family history of heart disease or diabetes
  • Have been diagnosed with heart disease or diabetes
  • Are already taking cholesterol-lowering medications
  • Have been diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome (high blood pressure)
  • Are overweight
  • Have high LDL – the bad cholesterol
  • Have low HDL – the good cholesterol
  • Have high triglycerides

What else can I do to support my heart health naturally?

Just as you care for your teeth with brushing and flossing on a daily basis, there are complimentary recommendations I can make to show some love to your heart.

1. Diet

Eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables without processed foods. If you are just starting off eating a healthy diet, then keep it simple and think meat and vegetables. Poor quality foods not only enflame the whole body, but specifically the heart, which ultimately leads to disease processes forming within the cardiovascular system.

2. Exercise Daily

Exercise on a regular basis. By simply going for a brisk walk every day, you can decrease your risk of heart disease by 90% according to the American Heart Association. This is very little effort that reaps huge rewards.

3. Fuel Your Heart

Though taking your regular daily vitamins (vitamin, minerals, fish oils) is a must, there is one supplement that nobody knows about that has a huge positive impact on your heart health. That is CoQ10 Ubiquinol.  CoQ10 supports overall cardiovascular health including blood pressure levels.

Statistics don’t lie. You must either walk a different path in health or follow the road highly traveled. That road leads to heart attacks and disease at a very young age.

To achieve longevity and a high quality of life, you should highly consider advanced testing through the cardiometabolic lab test.  It will give you the true knowledge that you need in order to engineer a healthy heart. In addition to the cardiometabolic test, implement the complimentary recommendations. They are simple and offer a huge reward for very minimal effort.
