No matter how much exercise or calorie restriction they do, it just doesn’t seem to work out for them. If this is why you can’t lose weight, it can be very frustrating and eventually lead to failure and someone giving up on weight loss altogether.
One of the most important weight loss tips I can offer you is one that focuses on healing the cell. If you focus on healing the cell, then you will drive inflammation down in the body which ultimately will help balance hormones and be a crucial part of the weight loss journey.
Another reason why you can’t lose fat is simply because you’re eating too many calories. If you are not eating correctly and consuming more food than energy expenditure, your body has no choice but to store it as fat. So when you ask yourself why I can’t lose belly fat, remember that it may have a lot to do with inflammation that essentially leads to hormone imbalance that is causing you to have a metabolism that is not efficiently operating. In this video we’re talking about why you aren’t losing weight. There’s a lot of people out there who have a lot of stubborn belly fat they’re trying to get off but they just can’t seem to get it off. Now they’re eating the proper diet, they’re exercising, but yet still things just aren’t happening and the worst thing that happens is that people give up at this point. What we want to do is talk about some of the unknown reasons as to why you can’t lose weight.
Let’s go ahead and kick it off with hormones. Now, we’re specifically talking about hormone imbalances, and there’s a couple key hormones that we need to pay attention to. First here is insulin, now if someone is insulin resistant essentially what’s going to happen is that they’re going to have a buildup of insulin in the body, and it’s going to encourage fat storage the other thing is there’s a hormone called estrogen, and when you have high amounts of estrogen or estrogen dominance it also will encourage fat storage. Then there’s the hormone leptin. Now if someone has leptin resistance what that essentially means is that their brain cannot hear the singles from leptin to tell you that you don’t need to eat anymore. Then they tend to over-consume. Leptin resistance is a huge problem when it comes to why you aren’t losing weight as well, of course, thyroid hormones. If you have thyroid imbalances then by all means we all know that that can lead to some weight problems.
Now, when we look at all these hormone imbalances in general the thing that we want to focus on is reducing inflammation in the body, reducing inflammation in the cell, and as a result we’re going to find that a lot of these hormone imbalance issues start to heal themselves. What we want to do is eat a non-inflammatory diet in order to start balancing hormones and even cleanse the body at a cellular level. I’ll put a link to a video I did on cellular detox in the description below.
Next on our journey to explore why you aren’t losing weight, there’s calories. So you know I’m not a fan of counting calories but when we look at calories in general there’s a couple things we need to pay attention to. First of all if we’re eating a healthy diet, but we’re eating too much healthy stuff then we’re gonna have to worry about calories and at a certain point calories in versus is out is something that we need to pay attention to simply because if you’re over-consuming, and you’re not expending that energy on a regular basis then essentially your body’s going to turn that food into fat and so when we look at calories we have to make sure that we’re not over-consuming. The other thing that we have to make sure is that we’re not under consuming because if you are doing a calorie restrictive diet essentially what can happen is you can actually slow your metabolism and crash it, so it’s never a good thing to over consume or under consume calories. It’s always good to make sure that that’s all on target.
Now, next thing that we can look to here is stress. When we talk about stress we have to talk about cortisol and essentially if you have high cortisol in the body you’re going to have slow digestion, and you’re also going to have slowed metabolism and then cortisol encourages blood sugar to be turned into fat, so basically what we want to do is we want to make sure that we’re reducing stress. Now this is physical stress, mental stress, and the stress from not getting enough sleep. So, we want to always focus on reducing stress so that our body is not storing fat.
Next here on our list is medication. We all know that person who got off of medication and gained a ton of weight. Now, if you are someone who is on a medication and you are gaining a ton of weight you can’t lose, then just talk to your doctor about it because many medications are linked to weight gain and that could be the reason that you’re not able to lose that. Talk to your doctor and try to find a solution to that medication issue.
Next, and last on our list, is going to be diet. Okay, it’s so important to make sure that you’re eating a healthy diet and you probably hear me harp on this a lot, but when we look at diet is one of the strongest tools that you have in your shed when it comes to healing, when it comes to weight loss, and when it comes to overall health in general. When we look at diet, you once again hear me harp on and the thing is it’s not so obvious. If it was then we wouldn’t have 32% of the population in the United States that are obese. It’s important to make sure that you’re eating whole foods. Get rid of the processed foods. Take it out of the house, make sure it’s not even something that your mind goes to get. Make sure that you’re replacing all those processed foods with good whole foods.
Next, here is we want to make sure that we take the sugar out of our diet, especially when we’re looking to heal the cells. When we’re looking to stop the hormone imbalance issues we have to take that sugar out because that sugar feeds inflammation. So take all the sugar out of your diet and then also make sure that you’re not consuming high sugar fruits like the mango, like banana, and look to low glycemic fruits like berries and grapefruit.
Next on our list here is to make sure that you’re eating a low carb diet. Eating a moderate protein, because we don’t want to eat too much protein otherwise it converts them into sugar. Many people who follow like a paleo diet make this mistake. They start eating a lot of protein and it just breaks down in the sugar and they still can’t lose weight.
Then of course we want to eat high fat. High fat is good for the body in so many ways, but the one good thing about fat is it’s a very high satiety food. So when we look at this once again it’s a anti-inflammatory diet and then also a good healthy diet.
