Intermittent fasting is not about calorie restriction; it simply is about eating all your meals in a 8 hour period. As an athlete and a clinician I don’t talk about these topics in theory. I actually use them and can understand the the benefits and struggles that come with these strategies.

When intermittent fasting, it is important to be on a healthy diet. If you are eating complete junk food when fasting, it can do more damage than good. I co-authored a cookbook and diet guide called Heal Yourself Cookbook. It is based on the premise of a non inflammatory diet design to heal the body.

The science behind intermittent fasting is astounding. Hormone balance, fat loss, decreased inflammation, and muscle gain are all amazing benefits related to intermittent fasting. It even can help prevent chronic illness as it down-regulates inflammation.

Now you can see how this works. During fasting, when the glycogen stores are gone, the body turns to the fat in order to produce the energy for your body to function, thus burning off the stubborn fat you’ve been trying to get rid of for years.Continue reading here…
