Over the last decade, my beautiful wife and I have invested so much into figuring out how to eat healthy and live healthy. For me, it has been hundreds of thousands of dollars, and thousands of hours of education. Though my wife inadvertently has invested the same, she has also spent hundreds of hours masterminding delicious meals and recipes that are designed to heal the body. She has taken all of her best recipes and put them into Heal Yourself Cookbook.
It all started out because we both had health issues. I suffered from fatigue, lack of focus, and a memory of a goldfish. She had female health issues, including ovarian cysts and irregular cycles, that she had been struggling with for years. We knew we had to do something, and we started with eating healthy.
To say this switch was a struggle, is an understatement. Ingredients didn’t cook the same, taste the same, and for goodness sake – there’s more misinformation out there than correct, quality information.
As I developed health strategies to work with sick clients, my wife developed recipes around my healing strategies. The patients that I work with need some of the most unique recipes because of their food sensitivities and health challenges. They required recipes that you won’t find anywhere else, and so the need was high. My wife created recipes in our kitchen for my patients and for all of you who are looking to use food as medicine to truly heal yourself.
I certainly can’t take too much credit for the Heal Yourself Cookbook & Diet Guide (except for maybe taste testing each dish several times). It is without a doubt my wife’s work of art, so I will let her explain it.
If you get one take away from this article, I want you to know that cooking healthy doesn’t have to take a lot of time, effort or money. I speak from years of experience. What’s the first dish you think of when you think of eating healthy? Salad right? Although I love fresh salads, it wasn’t something I wanted to eat for each meal for
the rest of my life. If I was going to eat healthfully and stick with it, I had to have a tasty variety of meals that were satisfying and exhilarating, rather than bland and boring.
