In this video, we’re talking about the fruits to avoid for weight loss.
When people are trying to lose weight, they cut the sugary sodas, the candy bars, and the high sugar foods that are very obvious that need to be taken out of the diet in order to lose weight, but what they typically turn to is fruit, and typically high sugar fruit because it fills the gap, it fills the void of taking all that junk food out of their diet. Now here’s the problem, is that many of those fruits, though they are a better source of sugar, though they are attached to fiber, at the end of the day it’s still sugar. So, it’s raising your insulin levels and it’s going to blunt weight loss. So, if you’re someone who is trying to lose weight, if many you’re suffering from weight loss resistance where your hormones are in a way that you just can’t lose weight no matter what you do, or if you are suffering from an inflammatory condition, or maybe you’re just trying to follow the Ketogenic diet, then you’re going to want to make sure that you avoid these different fruits that are very high in sugar. So, let’s go ahead and jump into the ones that you want to avoid and we’ll talk about the ones that you should have in your diet.
Now first, the high glycemic index fruits that we want to avoid are grapes, bananas, pineapple, mango’s, watermelon, and cherries. Now, on average one cup of any of these different fruits right here has 15 grams of sugar or more. Now, once again, these fruits aren’t bad in their nature, I mean, they have actually many healing benefits to them but when it comes to the topic of weight loss, when it comes to the topic of trying to reduce inflammation in the body, we want to avoid them.
So, let’s look at the low glycemic index fruits. Now, these fruits are going to be low in sugar, they’re not going to raise our insulin levels as high, they’re not going to raise our blood sugar levels as high, and the best part about them is they are every high in antioxidants and they have many nutritional benefits as well. So, first we have lemon, second is lime, green apples, grapefruit, and then berries. And we’re thinking all the berries here, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, elderberries, all the different berries. They’re very beneficial because once again, they’re going to keep our blood sugar lower, they’re going to help stabilize blood sugar, stabilize insulin, keep it low and they’re going to offer a lot of antioxidants.
