In this video, we are talking about baking soda. There are a lot of people taking baking soda, mixing it with water and drinking it and making some different concoctions taking baking soda, mixing it with salt and a bunch of other ingredients in order to try to improve their health. When we look at baking soda, it has a lot of great benefits but of course there is always pros and cons to everything. So, when we look at baking soda, so I want to discuss the pros and the cons and what you really need to know if you are someone who likes to use baking soda to improve your health.
Now when we look at baking soda in general there is a lot of pros to it. It is going to improve digestive health. It is going to do this by reduce digestive symptoms that some people may be having but also it supports reducing acid reflex and hard burn, and that pain that some people get in the upper and lower chest. So, if you are someone who is suffering from that baking soda can be really powerful for it.
It is also going to improve your kidney health. You know when we look at these studies out there what we found is people suffering from kidney disease it helped decrease the progression of that decease. When we look at people with kidney failure, it helped decrease kidney failure while using baking soda. So, baking soda is really powerful for improving your overall kidney health.
Now another thing it is going to do is help you with oral health. It is going to do this by whitening your teeth, it is going to reduce and eliminate the bacteria that is going to cause tooth decay and helps with bad breath. It has a lot of benefits when it comes to oral health and oral health is very important when it comes to the health of your over all body.
Another thing is it is going to increase sport performance. Studies out there show that consuming some baking soda and water before an event is very powerful in the way of increasing performance and endurance but also helping with the release and reduction of muscle fatigue. So, it is helpful int hat way.
It is also going to improve symptoms you will have from ulcers. If you know someone who has ever drank apple cider vinegar which is very popular right now, maybe they are drinking kombucha, they get a really strong burning sensation in their stomach there is a good chance they have an ulcer. So, using baking soda can remove some of the symptoms associated with ulcers because it can be very painful.
Now the last thing on our list is you can use it as a cancer prevention strategy. There is studies out there that show using baking soda as a way to decrease some of the symptoms of a cancer treatment. It can be very powerful for that and it also can be very powerful for reducing the size of tumors because tumors are very acidic. So, using baking soda which is very alkalizing it can really help reduce the size of those tumors and help support the overall health of your body.
Of course, just like anything there are pros and there are cons. So, let’s go ahead and look at some of the cons okay? Because if you are using too much baking soda you can have microbial imbalances because the PH in the gastrointestinal tract is very important for maintaining a good microbalance. So, if we don’t want pathagens increasing in our gut and start having bad bacteria growing in there we want to make sure we keep the PH right. So, we have to be careful when using baking soda when it comes to microbial imbalance.
We also have to be careful with it when it comes to acid reflux because people having heart burn or acid reflux it decreases those symptoms, but it can also make matters worse. So, using small amounts of baking soda for a short period of time is a good strategy but using high amounts for a long time is not a good strategy. Simply because as it as it effects the ph. in the stomach it can affect how the valves are functioning in the stomach and make the whole matters worse be careful with that.
Another thing baking soda can do is decrease your potassium levels as it decreases potassium absorption, it can decrease chloride levels, it can increase your sodium levels. So, we have to be careful with that as well. When we look at this it really comes down to everything in moderation and too much of a good thing is not a good thing. We have to be careful with it in that way.
When we look at a lot of the different research out there what I have found is a lot of the research is pointing to one teaspoon mixed in a 8 oz glass of water. So, if you are someone consuming 2-3 and even 4 teaspoons a day mixed with water then that is not going to be healthy for you. If you are consuming just baking soda in very small amounts, then that can be good for your over all health.
The other important thing is to make sure we are eating a healthy diet because many of the symptoms and problems that were looking at here are related to eating a very poor diet. We want to make sure that were looking into that as well.
The last two things I want to mention is when we look at some of the pros of baking soda it has a ton of natural beauty benefits, and skin benefits so be sure to use baking soda for those reasons because it can help with acne. It can help with bug bites and it can help with rashes. Baking soda is powerful in so many ways.
